The JCX one-ups John Mayer! W Weekly interview on the way!

For those of you that survived Valentines Day, The Jimmy Carter Experience will be having one kick ass show at The High Life lounge with The Moxies on February 24th. Now, we are aware that there's this John Mayer fellow playing at Rupp Arena earlier that night... however, he should be done by 10 or 10:30, after which you should head over to the High Life and check out our music which is 100% Jessica Simpson free. We like to think of it like John is opening for us, just in a different, much larger venue.

Also, we'll have an interview in next weeks W Weekly magazine, so pick up a copy and learn the hopes and dreams of every band member.

WKQQ's Decent Exposure 2006 - Dates and Times

The JCX will be playing on Wednesday June 14th at The Blue Moon, starting at 9PM, at a cost of $5. Remember, this is a battle of the bands, so we need people to come out and vote for us, regardless of who else plays that night. You can check out the myspace event page here, and the WKQQ page here, and you can also look at this nifty graphic they sent us below this article. We promise to be the craziest band you'll see that night, so come on out and vote!

WKQQ's Decent Exposure 2006

The Jimmy Carter Experience has been selected once again to play WKQQ's Decent Exposure battle of the bands contest! We're super excited about it, and exact dates will follow shortly. Thanks to everyone, and once we know the day, make sure to come out and cheer violently!

New show! 04-19-06 at The Dame

The Jimmy Carter Experience will be playing with super-cool rockers Ash Wednesday on Wednesday, April 19th at The Dame! Both bands have made a pact to rock so hard that the walls shake, not because of sound, but in fear of the mighty rock we both will produce. Shows at the Dame generally start at 10. So be there! Also, if you are not familiar with Ash Wednesday, please get with the times and check them on their myspace page by clicking here, or at www.AshWednesdayMusic.com. If thats not enough to entice you to show up, then you need reevaluate some things.

Album completed, and a couple more things...

The album has been completed. Everyone collectively cheer! My advice would be to save some big Hamiltons for late April, so you won't be the only one left on the block without a shiny new album. Also, we are currently in preliminary discussions with an agency that does booking and radio promotions. So, hopefully, soon we'll be touring to support our college radio hit! But again, this is preliminary, so more detailed news will follow as it becomes available. Stay tuned... same Jimmy time, same Jimmy channel...

RSS news feed available for blog/guestbook

That's right! Now you can keep up with discussions using RSS newsfeeds for the blog. Um... if you don't know what RSS is, you should probably google it, but basically it means you can check sites remotely to see if people are posting on it. It's a great way to keep up with news.

Our Condolences

As we all know, Jason recently took over hosting duties on the Late Late Show, but what you may not know is all the behind the scenes gossip. When O.C. Star Mischa Barton started flirting with Jason on air, Anna went into a rage and utterly destroyed the green room as well as the next guest, Dr. Joyce Brothers. Our condolences to the Brothers family. Meanwhile, Mike is convinced that he'll win an emmy for best second banana, despite the fact that there is no such category and that Mike has never even appeared on the show. Matt put together an excellent house band, made up mostly of wind-up toys and of course, Bruce Springsteen. Ben is a devoted Conan fan, so he's been holed up in his apartment watching barbarian movies.

God Only Knows

After a near death experience involving a toaster, 50,000 watts of electricity and a crate of John Grisham novels, the band decided to reevaluate life. Feeling that the unexamined life was not worth living, three of the members signed on to a course with the Dalai Lama in trying to discover inner peace. Though Anna has been successful (at the next show, make sure to ask her about the meaning of life!), Jason and Ben are getting frustrated with inner peace and usually end up playing more Madden on the Playstation. Matt joined the Scientologists and is now dating Jenna Elfman as part of their celebrity matching program. Meanwhile, Mike has transcended our earthly plane. Good for him.
